Anbox Cloud Test Notes

Anbox Cloud tests were performed on bare-metal 1P server (Mt. Hamilton GPU server) populated with four Nvidia A16 GPUs. The processor tested was an Ampere Altra Max 128-core 3GHz CPU. The server under test was populated with 512GB of memory running on ubuntu OS 20.04 – 5.4.0-132-generic kernel. Nvidia GPU driver in testing was 515.86.01 with CUDA version 11.7. A networking configuration with at least 1Gbps of connectivity is recommended for these tests. It is also recommended to use two fast 1TB SSD drives for the storage configuration, where the 2nd SSD drive is dedicated to LXD container data.

This test was performed using the 3D game "Bombsquad" application for benchmarking, and was rendered and encoded by GPU at 720p and 1080p at 30fps and 60fps.

In addition, we used a dedicated benchmark tool provided by Canonical Anbox team to create streaming sessions and collect various performance statistics.
