Analytics

What are Analytics?

Analytics is the process of collecting, processing, and analyzing data to extract actionable insights that inform decisions; it spans descriptive dashboards, statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and prescriptive optimization.

Analytics is characterized by three key components:

  • Data pipeline & storage: ingestion, ETL, and storage (data warehouses, lakes) to consolidate data for analysis.
  • Models & algorithms: statistical methods, ML models, and visualization techniques to derive patterns and predictions.
  • Operationalization & governance: deployment of models to production, monitoring, lineage, and compliance controls.

Why are Analytics important?

Analytics trasnforms raw data into strategic insights— enabling informed decision-making in operations, products and user experience. Choosing the right compute platform (including energy-efficient Arm-based servers like Ampere Altra) can reduce cost and latency for large-scale analytic workloads.
